🕯️ “Some reunions are not meant to heal wounds. They come to reopen them.”

It was the first rain of July in Islamabad. A private reunion had been planned in a dilapidated but grand old house in Sector F-6, once owned by the late industrialist Bashir Sahab. His grandson, Zayaan, a quiet screenwriter from Karachi, had returned to the capital after 17 years.

Invitations were sent to five people. All of them were once childhood friends—now strangers joined by a single, shared past they refused to talk about.

None of them knew why they were invited.

🎭 The Cast of Shadows

  1. Zayaan – The quiet host. Traumatized by the death of his twin brother in 2008. Now obsessively writing a screenplay about a murder nobody believes happened.

  2. Sameer – Now a powerful political analyst, charming and deceptive. He was the last person seen with Zayaan’s brother before the “accident.”

  3. Laila – An actress known for mysterious disappearances and fragile mental health. She once claimed she "saw something" but was dismissed as delusional.

  4. Tariq – A psychologist. Cynical, logical, dismissive of supernatural claims. But he hides his own secrets from that fateful night.

  5. Dr. Sana – A criminal pathologist. She always believed Zayaan’s brother was murdered—but was silenced by higher-ups.

🕵️ The Reunion Begins…

The storm outside raged as the group sat awkwardly in the drawing room. No phones worked. No electricity. Just candlelight and old memories.

Zayaan brought out a box.

Inside it—old photos, news clippings, a bloodied wristwatch, and a voice recording that chilled them all:

“They say you forget after death… but I remember. And I want justice.”

The tape ends with a shriek.

Laila faints. Sameer grows visibly uncomfortable. Dr. Sana quietly starts recording everything. Tariq accuses Zayaan of staging an elaborate prank.

But then… the front door creaks open on its own.

🔍 Layers of Truth Unfold

  • An old diary is found in the attic, written by Zayaan’s twin, full of confessions.
  • A forged autopsy report surfaces, with Dr. Sana's signature—but she never signed it.
  • Surveillance photos from 2008 are discovered, showing the five friends in a room they all deny being in.
  • Laila begins drawing disturbing images—of blood, fire, and a locked room no one remembers.

💀 The Final Twist

At midnight, Zayaan reveals the truth.

“This isn’t a reunion. It’s a reconstruction. I’ve rewritten our last monsoon together... word by word.”

He has drugged their drinks. Each room in the mansion has been rigged with speakers and cameras. He’s been filming their reactions for weeks. Every confession, every lie, every twitch of guilt.

“My brother didn’t slip. You let him fall. And now… the world will watch your truth.”

The next morning, a film trailer drops online titled:

“The Last Monsoon Meeting: Based on a True Betrayal”

It trends instantly.

But the five guests… are never seen again.
